WVSOAR extends an extra special thanks to Bob Evans Farm for graciously allowing us to fly at the farm. You can visit the Bob Evans Restaurant Page - includes other activities happening at the Bob Evans Farm.
Founded in January 1997, we are the oldest active West Virginia rocketry organization sanctioned by the National Association of Rocketry. Launches and club meetings are scheduled monthly. All rocketeers are welcome to join us, from grade schoolers to BARs (born again rocketeers).
All of our scheduled launches conform to NAR Model Rocket Safety Code and NAR High Power Rocket Safety Code. We reserve the right to inspect all rockets, motors and launch equipment before you fly. We also ask that you observe all of our guidelines (available in hard copy at each scheduled launch) for the safety, protection and fun of all participants. Click here to download our guidelines. Even if you don't have a rocket but would like to visit, come on out! We'll find a rocket for you to launch!
Presentations can be arranged for groups (school, scouts, church youth, etc). Please contact us and we will arrange something for you or come to our Kids Day! We are the only club in the state with a mentor in the Team America Rocketry Challenge and we are the official club that launches rockets at October Sky Day in Coalwood, WV.
